The RTX A4500 and RTX 3080 are still some of the best graphics cards on the market. Despite being over two years old, these GPUs can rack up some serious performance numbers for multiple applications.
Although the RTX 3080 comes out at the top regarding performance and overall efficiency, the RTX A4500 is still a force to be reckoned with, considering its massive and outstanding professional-grade task execution capability.
Both are packed with some sought-after attributes that make them a wanted addition to any enthusiast build and are highly similar in many regards. However, they speak for themselves when subjected to different types of task execution, where the A4500 is more effective for professional environments and the 3080 clutches immensely for gaming.
Utilizing the Ampere microarchitecture, the RTX 3080 and RTX A4500 are both highly kindred with each other. They handle graphical loads likewise and are capable of similar sorts of effectiveness throughout their usage.
Also, the Ampere architecture is designed on the same 8nm Samsung fabricated chip we have seen before from this series. This similarity also translates to the total number of transistors each GPU has inside, equating to 28,300 million for both.
The die size of 628mm2 is also what you will see on both sides. However, the overall core count of both GPUs differs a lot. Even though both GPUs behave alike, the RTX 3080 has a much higher core count than the RTX A4500, which shows its effect on the overall power and thermal side.

The RTX 3080 follows the gaming graphics card philosophy and features a neat clock frequency range, making it a more viable option for tasks needing higher clock efficiency. With that said, the RTX 3080 has a clock range of 1440 MHz to 1710 MHz and works perfectly as a high-end gaming GPU.
The RTX A4500 focuses more on providing an efficient solution for professional graphical needs. It has a nominal core clock range of 1050 MHz to 1650 MHz. This works reasonably well to put up some good numbers on several benchmark scores but fails to amaze in front of the RTX 3080.
Nevertheless, the RTX A4500 manages to beat the 3080 with its higher memory clock of 2000 MHz, whereas the 3080 falls short with only 1188 MHz.
Base Clock | 1050 MHz | 1440 MHz |
Boost Clock | 1650 MHz | 1710 MHz |
Memory Clock | 2000 MHz, 16 Gbps effective | 1188 MHz, 19 Gbps effective |
Another good thing going with the RTX A4500 is its higher video memory. Although its GDDR6 memory is slightly slower than 3080’s GDDR6X memory, it still has a higher volume of 20 Gigabytes against the limited 10 GB capacity of the 3080.
Both GPUs utilize a 320-bit wide bus for data transfer and connectivity. However, due to its faster memory, the RTX 3080 again takes the high ground with 760 GB/sec bandwidth relative to the 640 GB/sec rate of the A4500.

The entire board size of the RTX 3080 and A4500 is identical to the last millimeter. Both feature a handleable 267mm length and 112mm width, making them easy to house in most PC chassis.
Moreover, the RTX A4500 capitalizes on nearly perfect power efficiency and requires only 200 Watts at its peak operating conditions. As for the RTX 3080’s higher core count and processing prowess, they come at the cost of higher power usage of almost 320 Watts.
Furthermore, the RTX 3080 offers higher multitasking with its multiple DisplayPorts and HDMI connections. Meanwhile, the RTX A4500 only supports the modern 1.4a DisplayPorts and features four of them.
